Hello All!
As all you sky watchers out there may know the Geminid shower is coming this weekend. If any one has any tips as to how I can get some decent shots with the G2 that would be more than helpful. I was thinking of just leaving it set at Tv with two to four seconds, but I am really new at this so I am just guessing. Anyone with any info or tips please oh please share. Thank you! |

The same question came up just before the last leonid shower. Some suggestions were made, see at http://photography-on-the.net/forum/...p?t=5895#26564
In the Netherlands the sky was completely covered with clouds so i stayed in bed during the leonid shower. Did anyone had more luck and actually made pictures of the leonid meteor shower? |

While I'm still pretty clueless, I plan to give it a shot tonight. My biggest problem is the light pollution in the city; luckily I'm not in a big city and can easily drive for ten minutes to get to the middle of nowhere.
I figure I'll take a bunch of exposures at or around eight seconds, f/4.3 (or however low my stock XTI lens goes), and see how lucky I get with the timing. The peak is approximately 75 meteors per hour, so that gives me a 1/6 chance to hit one with that shutter speed. |

Saw two before dawn. Photographed zero. It was -3 F, so I ran my remote release into the truck and kept the heat on.

Thanks. I've since discovered that. Seems Venus is often with us.
