This is reasonable....

http://photography-on-the.net/forum/...d.php?t=229542

If not then a few pointers to start with!

1. If its a jet, shoot as fast as you can...f/2.8-5.6 ideally, so make sure you are in Av (aperture priority). Normally have to take 2/3-1 stop off your fastest aperture to get the best sharpness from your lens.
2. If its a prop then ideally shoot in Tv (Shutter priority) and try to shoot between 1/60 - 1/250 to get some prop blur.
3. If you can, always stay the light side of the aircraft, unless of course you want a silhouette.
4. Panning! Something i am useless at. The 3 P’s...Practice Practice Practice, on whatever you can. For me, i find it easier to shoot in single shot and not on motor drive, that way i get a rhythm that helps me pan better...don't ask why, it’s just what i find easiest.
5. Research! I know on the UK there are plenty of forums with lots of info on regarding previous day’s movements etc, so look it up and if something has come in one day, it’s likely to depart the next.
6. Experiment! Find what’s right for you and don't be afraid to experiment and don’t be afraid to ask others there.

Well, that’s all I can add for now...hope you find it useful...

The biggest problem I find is with exposure. Even with my 100-400 you will often be including a lot of sky which will tend to underexpose the subject. In this case I use Manual exposure, getting a good read off a gray card or similar object and use it until the light changes, checking frequently.

Hope that you have a clear sky and that the show setup puts the sun behind you. The combination of a hazy sky and shooting into the sun can make for a frustrating airshow day.

Here in Georgia we pride ourselves on putting the aircraft between us and the brightest sunlight we can find.
