Default 'Uploading' not working

Hi there,

I've just bought a PQI USB card reader/writer, but I could not upload any file from the computer to the CF card. I tried with photo files (JPG) and with movie files (AVI) but both did not work out. When I go through the file manager, the uploaded files ARE in the card directory (100CANON). But these files do not appear when I turn on the camera. In the Canon Browser they do not appear also. How can I do it? The only reason why I bought the card reader/writer was to allow me to upload movie files from the computer back to the card, since the Canon Zoombrowser does not allow this procedure with AVI files. And I could not do it so far!... The camera is a Canon Powershot G2 and the operational system of my PC is a Windows 98. I tried the same with a blank card, and it remains blank in the camera screen ('no image') after the upload, although the file appears in the card driver. I look forward to getting information from you. Thanks, Andre Marques

I have got it!!! The files in the computer had the following name structure: nnnn_MVI.AVI and nnnn_MVI.THM. I made a test movie in the camera and the created files were Mvi_nnnn.avi and Mvi_nnnn.thm. Then, I just renamed the thm and avi files on my computer and dragged and dropped them through the CF reader from the computer to the card: it worked. I did the same with a jpg file and it worked too.

Terrific, Andre - glad we could help! (Seriously though, I'm sure your entry will help others that may have the same problem at some point.)
