Default Amazing gigapan image

Here is the link to the massive gigapan picture: http://www.yosemite-17-gigapixels.com/
This image was taken by Gerard Maynard in May/June 2008
Have anyone tried this out?

Since I was with Gerard at yosemite that weekend, I can tell you it wasn't shot with a gigapan, but rather with a pixorb and a nikon dslr and a really really long lens (don't remember what lens he used exactly, something in the 400-600mm range i guess).

it was all part of the yosemite extreme panorama project, organized by eric and greg of xrez.com/yose_proj/Yose_result.html

we had about 20 gigapans with us in the park, and about 3-4 larger rigs, with Microsoft bringing the largest rig of all. you can see some shots of the resulting 60 gigapixel pano at flickr.com/groups/xrez_yosemite/pool/, including shots of the gigapans and other rigs.
