Thanks, I'm really enjoying this lens, but maybe I should've posted this in the best bokeh thread.

Here's one from a Leica 35mm f/2 summicron

Here's some helpful info for the guys in the discussion about distances from flange to focal plane. http://www.bobatkins.com/photography...focus_EOS.html

Unfortunately you cannot make a Contarex to EOS mount as the mount register is too thick (apparently it would leave the adapter being 1mm thick or something). If a contarex lens is mounted it can only be used as a super close up. (from the info I found when I was looking anyways).

The only known Contarex mount to have been made was a contarex to Olympus mount. I'd love to buy one and an Olympus SLR as I have an 18mm Distagon and a 80-240 Vario Schnieder lens from the 60's that I'm itching to use.

I just picked up a Vivitar MC 28mm/F2 in a Nikon AI mount at a garage sale...only problem is that the aperture is stuck wide open...still, it may be quite suitable for just that...shooting wide open in the dark...we'll see....maybe I'll try taking the mount off and see if I can get the aperture to work...
First shots into bright light prove problematic having no choice but to shoot wide open, but in the shade...not bad...shot on a Canon 40D

because the detail is spread over a larger area making it relatively smaller and harder to discern. If you have liveview, zooming in 5x on your main subject can help. Otherwise, yeah, it is challenging. You may wish to rely on the distance scale.

Yup...
It is somewhat easier with the optional EF-S focusing screen tho...

Thanks! Can't wait to try my CSJ MC 180/2.8. I'm waiting for the P6 to Eos adapter to come.

The 135mm is very nice. I had a mint/boxed one that I really enjoyed using.
