Default Pro? or hobby?

Just curious

Who here, on this site, is actually a professional photographer.. when i say that, i mean, relying on your photos to support yourself... just photography, nothing else

Or just a hobbyist?

Or a hobbyist tying to hit pro?

For me it's a hobby, and I still have to follow the learning curve, although I will utilize it to make money, maybe not directly, but as a tool for me, because I intend to go in to the media technology field. Then I'll see if I want to take it further.

Rather than doing this again try the "what's your real occupation" thread.

Strictly hobby.

Would never try to be pro as its ones of my escapes from work, rather than the stress of worrying if I can make a living from it (I know i'm not good enough )

Well, I am not employed by anyone other than myself, however; my husband does work and that allows me to be an aspiring pro.

I'd have to work really really hard to make enough at photography to not work full time anymore. I like part time pro, I don't shoot anything for free unless it's my family.

Somewhere in-between.

I took an early retirement four years ago from my "real" job, just before I turned 53.

Nowdays, I supplement my retirement by freelancing for a few newspapers.
