Hi all,
I have an early (CP-E1?) canon compact battery pack that takes 6 AA's. I used it with the 540 flash in the days of film and then with my 550 in more recent times. I now have a 580EX II as my main flash & it recycles so quickly I have even thought about the battery pack, but I have got a wedding coming up this year, so I might use it for that. Does anyone know if it works ok with the 580EXII before I blow my flash into next week?!!! Thanks Phil |

The CP-E4 works with 550 and 580, so if it powers a 550 it should work fine on a 580. Your risk though.
