Default 400 f5.6 IS version?

Anyone heard any rumors about Canon coming out with an IS version of the 400 f5.6?

Just my luck, I'd pull the trigger on the 400 f5.6 and Canon would come out with an IS version a week later.

the 300 is a great lens but after replacing it with the 400 there's no turning back. And now after testing with the 1.4x is even better.

ZZZzzzZZZzzz... Go ahead & buy the EF 400 f5.6 so that Canon will release the IS version!
I've been hearing rumors of the 400 f5.6 IS for at LEAST 3-4 years now.

John,

What part of S. Dak. you from?

I spent most of 1969 - 2003 there.

I see you don't own a 400 f/5.6.

Still waiting on the IS version?

Indeed, I'm waiting for you to get the 400 f5.6 so I can pick up the 400 f5.6 IS 6 months later
