Love them!
Being a downhill rider I can appreciate these big time! Photos are fantastic and the drop looks epic in the photo as there is nothing much to indicate the bottom of the drop.

Love how you have captured the front wheel with forks fully extended and back shock slightly compressed with the back wheel riding over the edge...great shots!

I haven't tried riding that trail since 2002. It is very loose and steep. Oh and off-camber. But it is fun to shoot the young guns hammering down it. The 5-6 who can in the area.

Here is a link to the man who built it just destroying the thing!

I was about to give you an image by image crit but once I hit 11 or maybe 12 or 13, well, those thoughts ceased. #1 and 6 are very nice but 9, 11, and the last are the real bangers here. Those are fanstastic. #2 I'd dump, it seems pretty soft on this monitor. The rest are all decent enough but didn't get me saying wow. Guess that's the reader's digest version. Nice series for sure and again, 9, 11, and the last one....WOW! I would crop a touch of the sky out in the last, just a little too centered for me.

Great shots - I am going to get out and shoot some mountain bike racing this summer. If you had to pick one of your lenses for this kind of shooting would it be your 16-35 or your 24-70... or something else?

I assume that's HSS working on that last image. Exif shows flash firing. Was it on camera flash? Basically, would you mind walking me through your flash setup for this, the exif confused me a bit...

jgl the lens I use 90% of the time is the 16-35. The 24-70 wasnt even used that day. Also the 70-200 is good to use.

Yes I had 1 580 on camera with HSS and 1 off being fired from the one on camera. It fired only about 80% of the time. This shot the ground flash did not go off it was set off to the right half way down the drop. I usuallt try and underexpose the back and fill with flash....
