I like this photo very much, but wonder if the loose hairs are a detraction and whether the DOF blurring the ball is a minus factor. I could probably correct the hair (?). Interested in your opinion. Should I have stopped it down a bit to get all in focus?

I like it very much too. Beautiful color and texture against the black background works nice for me. If you could re-shoot it, removing the hairs across the face would probably be a good idea.

i also like this shoot a lot, the only thing that i would do differently would be to use a smaller f-stop like 8 so all the textures of the fabric could come out. i might also slightly dodge the lower part of the dolls dress. as for the hairs, i think i like them it makes it look more authentic.

I vote for losing the stray hairs. Especially since the hair blends into the background so that you notice the clothes and the face (which I like in this image).
