Default ZoomBrowser EX and startup image troubles

Good afternoon everybody!
I'm new to this forum, so thank you all for bearing me..
I've just bought a Canon EOS 350D and everything's fine but the ZoomBrowser EX software feature that "should" upload startup screen and sounds to my camera.
The problem is simple: upload (and download as well) buttons are disabled and there's no way to enable them... Can you help me out?

Thank you!

Let me start with the standard advice.

1. Get a card reader.
2. Install the software.

Can we assume that your camera has been plugged in and turned on?

Thank you all!
All camera features work fine!
I also updated date and time via pc and uploaded my name...
The theme upload is THE ONLY thing that doesn't work...
If there had been other malfunctionings I would have posted differently...

The annoying thing is that I can do almost everything BUT that thing...
Please, help me!

PS: Just to be precise: I can download pics to my pc, so a card reader is helpless.. And yes, I switched camera to PC communication. That's the VERY first thing stated in the manual...

The original poster has already stated that a card reader is helpless, so I guess there is no point.

He's trying to use the software to change settings in the camera.

So no,. a card reader won't help.

I just tried it and I see the same problem. Try contacting Canon technical support (I've found that they are better than you might expect).

Isn't the Theme upload just for the P&S cameras like the G- or the A-series cameras. i didn't think the DSLRs used themes unless they're starting with the XT.

The simple answer is, as one notable and brilliant inventor, eloquent orator and humorist, and fine gentleman who humbles us with his gracious presence here in POTN said, "You’re not me".
