Anyone else extremely excited it's Moto GP season again!? Can't wait to see the photos start pouring in here.

Here is a photo since this isn't much of a photo thread other than to just get people stoked for the upcoming season.

I'm also happy to see Spies over in SBK kicking some butt.

"Butt" he(Spies) made up for it in race 2 with a podium. ;) Haga was too fast at Valencia. Stoner was fastest today after FP1 in Qatar. Saturday should be interesting with the single tyre rule and no qualifiers anymore.

Despite the BBC advertising "Full" and "Extensive" coverage of the 2009 MotoGP championship, I see that British Eurosport is still offering a better coverage which includes practising. So much for the Beebs promises.

I also cannot find any solid information on what channels the Beeb are intending to show it on. Mention is made of "on-line" and "red buttons", Freeview channel 301 and BBC 3 are also quoted, but briefly. So anyone here in the UK have any reliable information?

Itys a shame, because the British Eurosport pair annoy me almost to the point where the screen is going to get broken, while the commentary team the Beeb have is excellent. And Suzy is better looking than Julian!

Wasn't it supposed to be a delayed broadcast on the BBC? Thought I had read that somewhere.

strikerstu,

Yes, thats where I went when it was not listed on the normal BBC 1 or 2. They seem to be trying to baffle everyone by putting the Qualifying (watched that earlier) today on a different channel to the race(s) tomorrow? It's a very confusing mix of 3 different channels over the weekend - Freeview301, red button and BBC3.

I also notice the production values are far below the standard I expect from them (no intro, straight into an already running 125 qualifying session, sound errors several times). So somethings odd here, almost as if the MotoGP authorities are having second thoughts about who gets the TV rights?

Hi Richard,I always find it's never up to the full, lets say BBC1/2 standard when shown on Freeview etc, but it's better than nothing I suppose.Even last season the 125 and 250 were always shown on 301/302.Don't forget tonight the live race is on BBC3 though...Stu

The 250 race was exciting at least. But had they run the races in daylight, we might have actually watched more racing (on wets), not sat and watched the rain on TV.

The MotoGP race postponed today will run tomorrow. It has been rescheduled per FIM. One more chance.

V,

Thanks, will be back in time to see it I think. Off shooting a steam train coming through Salibury today. Scouted locations yesterday and have picked two good spots provided I don't have millions of other 'togs around. Not motor racing but at least it moves!

I was disappointed that the race was cancelled and I think they were all surprised to see rain in April. I was. I live in the neighbor country and the weather is bad til this morning. hope it will be fine tonight.

For those of us in the UK, the race will be live at 1845 on the BBC "Red Button".
