I am trying to decide whether or not to get the Sigma 1.4x TC. I will be taking photos of my kids' soccer games. Just don't want to get the TC and get low quality shots. Anybody here shoot with the 70-200 w/1.4x TC? Please...pretty please post some pics!:)

Thanks!

Wow, great shots! Were these taken with the Sigma or Canon? And is the Kenko pro 1.4 TC better than the Sigma TC?

Thanks!

thanx Jenn...from what i've read the kenko is the best of the three and i notice very little image degradation when using it with my canon 70-200L f4.

JBF -- no i haven't. from what i have read the IQ probably would not be acceptable to me.

since i use my 70-200L fully extended with TC i would sure like to get my hands on the canon 300mm IS f4 :D .

Canon 70-200 f4L with tamron 1.4x TC. Sometimes I'm happy with the tamron TC and sometimes not. Can't quite get it to produce consistent results. Or it might be me...

As stated before the 1.4 is really good and hard to see any degradation. Unlike the 1.4, the 2.0tc is pretty easy to see flaws in your images, and I rarley use it. I just keep it in the bag for the "if I only had a longer reach" emergencies...

Great shots, Scott!:) Why did you choose the Tamron over the Canon, Sigma, or Kenko? Do you think the Tamron is just as good optically as the other brands or not?

Thanks!

You're right, Dito! I hardly see any degradation at all, if any. I've heard others say that they weren't as satisfied with the 2x TC as they were with the 1.4x.

You all have provided me with some very good shots to help with my decision. I'm off to check out some 1.4x TC at B&H!:D
