Default Central Valley tea Party, Fresno, Ca.

Fresno had over 7.500 attend the most polite protest I have ever witnessed.
There were big hats and big sunglasses:

Leather hats and grim faces;

Teabag earrings, necklaces and bright smiles;

Clyde, a POTN member with a zero post count and teabag neck shade. How about it Clyde, going to start posting now?

People with smiles and signs;

Clowns with balloons;

And an American Dragoon;

There was passion for their cause but above all there was camaraderie and good will. It was a truly different experience.

I had a similar experience at the Sacramento Tea Party. What a great day it was! It's great to see your images from Fresno.
Good for the guy who took his horse! LOL. I doubt I could have pulled that off in Sac. .. though the mounted police were relaxed with nothing to do but visit with 15,000 nice people.

I saw some white lenses in action . .. was hoping to see more pix on POTN.
My collection from the day can be seen here: http://shootmypix.com/p307064410
Do you have a link to your album?

I really liked your series Donalyn. I believe that this photo was a good indicator of the participants. They were from all parties, just pretty fed up with politicians http://shootmypix.com/p307064410/e306b7a62

Thanks. Do you two have sites with more tea party pics?

Skip.. I wish I'd thought to take my flash like you did. Since I usually shoot horse events, this *photo-jounalism* type of shooting was pretty different for me.

I turned down my contrast setting .. but it was still a pretty 'glaring' day. I noticed in other peoples' Sacramento shots that some of the shots had the same type of problem that I was dealing with. .. at least in the meantime, I was able to recover most of the images in Lightroom.

I hardly ever go out without my flash at least in the bag and use it regularly for fill flash. Sometime you must shoot into the sun and the flash is essential to capture the faces, especially when the subjects are wearing hats.

LOL. Thats funny. Although you guys are still our big brother we called it tea parties because of when the colonialist ransacked a British boat in Boston throwing off all of their goods...a bunch of it being tea, in an effort to stop what they believed to be unfair taxation and rule of the govt. Forever being known in our history books as "The Boston tea Party".
This event was attacking essentially the same thing.

AWESOME photos!! I went to the one here in Tampa and got a few shots, as well.
There weren't nearly as many people at the Tampa one, but a good amount showed up.
There were some hilarious signs, though.
