Default first attempt at retouching

Well, figured I would give this ago. I have edited in the past but it has always only envolved a bit of using the clone tool and that kinda thing.

This took me about an hour and a half and I have to admit I did rush it a little as the image is not mine. If it had been mine I would of happily spent aslong as it needed to do a proper job of it.

So that you are all aware the photo was taken by Christopher Murr, and was uploaded by him as a raw image so that it could be used as a stock photo for people to retouch.

ORIGINAL:

EDIT:

There is alot of stuff I should of done and would of done if it was a photo I had taken or that I was going to print and use as a final to be framed etc.

Nice shot and beautiful model.

For my 2cents worth. I find the chest a bit bright in the edit. I like the tone of the original a bit better.

The wrinkle on her left lower neck is the only imperfection on her skin. Might be worthwhile to try to get rid of that.

Spend some time at 400 or 800x and clone out the imperfections and then perform the same workflow and see what you get.

I was at about 300% of the image when editing the face.

The main part of the image I was trying to edit was primarily the face.

After the face was done and I had done most of the image I kinda just left it at that. Like I mentioned, if it had been my image I would of deffinetely gone all the way and spent an extra hour or two doing everything. It is hard to see on my edit as I did change the exposure slightly after I finished. I will upload 100% crops of both of the images around her face and not change any colours to keep it hte same as original.

Very nice job in retouching the face. It wasn't obvious to me in your first post that there were so many blemishes that you were clearing.

The results you got are pretty good. I used to take as long as you to retouch images until I saw a posting on this forum about Imagenomics Portraiture plug-in for Photoshop. It's amazing. In 1 click, this plugin will get better results than what you just got in 1 1/2 hours. I didn't believe it till I DL the free trial. It's pretty expensive for a plugin, but if you have many images to manipulate, it's definitely worth it.
