Default nissan 350Z at night

this was my first attempt at shooting autos with my digital. i called my buddy and met him on the roof of a local parking garage at dusk. Unfortunatly i dont have the right lighting for this but wanted to try anyways, i think what i got was ok. please let me know what you think, or what i could do next time!

looks underexposed. My suggestion is that you start shooting in daytime to learn your camera, after you know how to use it properly then start taking pics at night, start in places where you have decent lightning

I'd change the white balance. It's way off. Also I'd stop down the lens some more and use a steadier tripod. It's a fairly long exposure so you'd need to use a shutter release cable and mirror lockup. It's a bit soft. The lack of light on the hood detracts as well.

The background should be cleaner also. The clock and the other lights above the hood detract. You might also leave more room in front of the car and a little more behind. You might try the shot again with the headlights on to.

On a positive note, you got the front wheel turned in the right direction.

If you don't have off-camera flashes, you pretty much have to balance the white balance out in camera or shoot RAW and edit it in post.

Except for the glare from the lights in the body & the blown clock, it's not a terrible effort as far as the look of the Z. If you have PS, this is one way to fix the clock: Post #13 in this, & the links in it.
