Default Hong Kong POTNers & TF models?

I am moving from NYC back to Hong Kong at the end of the month. I have 2 questions:

1) Any Hong Kong POTNers here? If so do you guys belong to a photography group you can introduce me to when I am back to Hong Kong?

2) Where can you find TF models in HK? In NYC I frequently use Model Mayhem or One Model Place but that is not as popular in Hong Kong. It looks like the majority of HK models on those sites are experienced and do limited TF shoots.

Thanks!

If you do it right, it doesn't hurt at all.

You would do that to someone?

Hi there.

I'll look into the model situation for you. I know there is a major one, but I forgot what it is.

I don't belong to any clubs or anything.

Thanks bro! I joined the HK Strobist club off Flickr since I am in the NYC one. I also joined some HK photography group of meetup.com in HK. Definitely would be a big help if you could find a site with a gangload of models with lesser experience so I don't have to pay an arm and a leg everytime I want to play around with some ideas.

I added you as a flickr contact. I'm not a "model" shooter (mainly do events). So I can't help you much. But I'm going to get into portraits more and more, so perhaps we could hook up sometime on a shoot.

I'm by no means a "model" shooter myself but if you're going to shoot someone most of the time it can't hurt if they look good and are more familiar with modeling

You should look into that HK strobist group on Flickr. They are pretty new but at least you'll find people to learn from, potential friends and also people tp split costs for shoots. I'm going to arrive in HK on 6/1 so once I'll settle in I'm going to see if we can get some shoots going.

Cool, also, put the link for the HK strobist group here. I'm lazy.

Just joined that group. I'm looking into getting some cheap Chinese wireless thingies (probably this weekend) to hold me over till the new Pocket Wizards arrive in Hong Kong.

Yeah, the Cactus V2 triggers are cheap. You can get 2 triggers and 2 receivers for less than the 1/2 price of 1 PW. I have those right now and I have 1 PW just so I can play with other PW users. Honestly, I haven't done too many shoots for 3-4 months but here are a few I did earlier after learning how to use the flashes a little:

You can just click on "view photos".

Awesome shots dude. I was thinking about the Cactus ones. But the ones made in China you can get here are even cheaper! I'm intending to get some this weekend I think.

They may suck, but their a temporary solution anyway.

Here are a couple of strobist model shots I did (some of the only ones I've done because it's not my normal thing) Done for and copyright of the YMCA of Hong Kong, used with permission:
