I've been wanting to ask this for a little while.
My camera and lenses are sometimes in the camera bag, sometimes sitting on the table, sometimes in a box, etc.... I need to find a better and more practical way to keep them all organized. How do you do it? |

I have two backpacks, the Tamrac Expedition 4 (older version) where I keep my camera, one flash and the "most likely to be used" lenses. This is the bag I always carry around with me when I take my camera out. I also have a Lowepro Nature Trekker where I keep my backup body, less used lenses, flashes and the other accessories that I don't need all the time.
When I go on weekend trips, both bags go into the car along with the tripod and monopod and I don't need to worry about where I have everything or not. I also have a little bag where I keep all my battery chargers and, of course, that goes along with the other two backpacks when I go on trips.

in my Tamrac Expedition 5 Backpack about 75% of the time.
I usually have my batteries recharging in the chargers, sets of AA's and my 20D batteries, plugged in

In the bag so I know where to grab it from. Except the A80 and DC290 which are in my work backpack and out for quick grabs.

Ok, sometimes around my neck, when it's really new, but I found it difficult to turn over while I'm sleeping.

Currently using 3 LowePro backpacks. CompuTrekker Plus AW for everyday use. It carries just about everything including my laptop and accessories. The ProTrekker AW carries everything I own and is used when I travel out of town for any extended period of time. I keep a MiniTrekker classic in the truck if I want to wander off and carry only a couple of lenses. A Domke J-1 and a LowePro Stealth 650 are used as shoulder bags and both can carry a heck of a lot of equipment. As well I have several LowePro lens cases of varying size and a few Sliploc pouchs that can be added to all the packs and bags for extra storage.
all equipment is always stored in one of the packs.

Wait, all that time and all I get is "Cream of the Damn Crop" ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
i voted "in other palces" as I have it pretty much scattered around.
My bag is full of whatever "kit" I am either using,. or used the last time. I have a shelf dedicated to most of the other stuff,. optics in particular (lenses and filters and t-cons etc..) And the two big primes are in the hallway with the bag in there own cases... Then theres all the other stuff,. QR plates,. heads, etc.. scattered all over! |

I store everything in pelican cases, taking out what I need for the day/week and placing what I am using in an appropriate soft-side bag, cleaning and returning to the pelicans after use.

I keep my 20D and the equipment in my signature in a Canon shoulder bag in my computer room. My A70 is usually in my car. My L lenses and other high priced equipment are kept safe at B&H for the time being
