Default My poor 430exii..

Goodbye sweet Canon 430EXII Speedlite Canon 580EX, your father saved a 5D Mark II, Including your Canon 70-200 2.8L and yourself. I dare you to do better. Enlist in Mathews fleet.

Haha my tribute to star trek!

anyway my 430exii was on my tripod, i accidently kicked the one leg and my camera fell. the 430exii took the blow as the hotshoe piece broke off. I didn't even get any shots in either!

Pros- I might as well get the 580EXII now that I have no flash, and that its on instant rebate.
Cons- I'm out a few hundred

You can probably fix it pretty easily.

I agree, maybe you can send it in to canon for repair? it would be nice to have both 580EXII + 430 EXII as a slave.

Sorry about the loss, but at least you didn't kick over a tripod with your 5D2 + 50L attached =)

Yep, I doubt that its beyond repair.

I'd be happy to give the OP $25 to mail it to me if he thinks its beyond repair.

if its just the hot shoe its a 20$ fix.

my old 430ex hotshoe broke off and its about 10 minutes to replace. and was like 12$ in parts.

Hmmm.... We may have just found the downside of metal hotshoe feet. Hard to see much from those small photos, but hopefully he gets you fixed up. If not, shoot me a PM.

It's horrible watching it go earthbound then hearing the thud, happened to me not long ago and ordered the foot replacement, should have ordered two because I might need one in case it happened again, guess what lol

But I've got a 580ex II coming on Monday

Yeah I got the 580EXII and I am very impressed with that one. Ill send it to ya DDCSD if my buddy can't fix it.

Watching it fall was horrible but i am just glad my 5d2 or 24-70l wasnt hurt at all. picking up the body of the 430exii made me want to cry as i noticed it wasnt attached to the shoe lol!

Ill post better pictures tonight if i can.
