Hey guys, well I got something we can try. So what you do is post a photo of yours, but if you post, you have to rate (1-10) and give a reasoning why you gave that rating (possible critique if you're feeling nice) to the photo of the person posted above you.
Rules: 1) You may not post 2 of the same images. 2) You have to give a fair rating. 3) You can only rate the photo above you, not 2, 3, 4 posts above you. It's pretty simple, and fun! Now let's be nice fella's and have fun Here, I will start: ![]() Cole_S |

Sounds like an interesting challenge. I have only two problems: Rating someone else's photo, and then having my photo rated

Thanks guys!
And yes, 1 being the worst, 10 being the best! John : I give you a 9 ONLY because a little more of the spider in focus would be better (at least for me).. Here's a little guy I caught diggin' for gold ![]() Last edited by Cole_Schmitt : 28th of May 2009 (Thu) at 14:45. |

Cole_Schmitt,
I rate your little guy photo a 6, (unless he found gold) a bit to dark and the subject is small, more zoom or crop would help. How does this one rate? |

John great shot I will give it an 8.5. I like the silhouetted trees but would like to see just a little more exposure and detail in the grass at the bottom. -Randy

That's a beautiful sky Design =)
I just feel like the nature below is a bit dull, lacking contrast. I give you a 7.5! here is mine: ![]()

Kiyohiko, I'll give you a 9. I don't have much to pick on, it's a great image, but HDR is slowly turning into a fad, and everyone's doing it. I'm numb.
Here's mine... ![]()

Katodog - I will give you an 8.5. I love the focus on the eye, but I wish you would've either zoomed all the way in on the head, or out enough to get the whole body. Great shot!
Here's mine - All colors are done with the shutter open, long exposure (1:40 exposure on this one) ![]()

I like this idea. Only don't take my rating or critique to heart, as I am just an amateur photog.
that being said, Alakan I like the colors in your shot, but I am not sure what the picture is of, or saying. I will give it a 6 because i like the effect of the colors. here is mine.... ![]()

Sounds like a fun game. I'm not a particularly good photographer (still learning), which will probably make me a pretty bad judge
Nice entries so far everyone! Russ, I love the ducks (always a POTN favorite) - and I'd mark that strong 6.5. I love the reflections in the water, but I'm having a little trouble deciding what the focus point was. Also, maybe a rule of thirds crop? The ducks are almost dead center. Otherwise, lovely photo! Chris pretty good people shot, you caught a great expression on the lady and man but I wish the girls face on the right wasn't hidden and the background is slightly distracting. I will give you a 6.7.
Here is one to rate. -Randy ![]() |

Design,
Nice colors with a bit too much black I rate your photo a 7.5 I originally made this photo for DSLR Speed Challenge #101: Perspective but decided to hold off. It was done using a large flash lights curved mirror to give the meltdown effect. |

I personally can not find anything wrong with your pic. I would give it a strong 8 3/4. Very nice. I like it even more knowing it is not photoshopped.
