My first Sharp shined Hawk - caught him atop a power pole at the Ash Meadows National wildlife reserve out side of Pahrump Nv - very pretty eyes - hope you enjoy

thanks for the comments - he came back with something to eat but we could not find where he landed - you have to stay on the boardwalk at this NWR

Very Nice!
Head shape and size on the pole, looks more like male coopers to me. I can kinda see the tail, and it looks like the outer feathers, of the tail, are shorter. Got a better pic of the tail? I could give a more definitive answer then. Great shots!! Greg
