Default Sharped Shined Hawk - Ash Meadows NWR Nv

My first Sharp shined Hawk - caught him atop a power pole at the Ash Meadows National wildlife reserve out side of Pahrump Nv - very pretty eyes - hope you enjoy
I think I misspelled the name - sorry

Nicely done (and yeah, it's shinned, not shined).

thanks for the comments - he came back with something to eat but we could not find where he landed - you have to stay on the boardwalk at this NWR

Nice captures Marcy but I'd bet they'd look a whole lot better enlarged...

Very Nice!

Head shape and size on the pole, looks more like male coopers to me.

I can kinda see the tail, and it looks like the outer feathers, of the tail, are shorter. Got a better pic of the tail? I could give a more definitive answer then.

Great shots!!

Greg
