It's one place on this planet I'd dearly love to visit. Of course for me it's an ocean crossing as well as a cross-continent trip, but I intend to get there one day!!

Until then, I'll make do with the excellent images on here

If interested in wildlife, I would strongly recommend the longer trip into Denali..not the natural history tour that is offered....it only goes 17 miles into the park and at that distance we had only seen sheep and a moose. By the time we finished, I had seen caribou, grizzly, fox, and wolves feeding on a recently killed caribou. Since I was told there were only 67 wolves in the park and I got to see 5 of them...I felt most fortunate.

Want to think about the vastness of the 49th state........every person in the world could come to Alaska to live and have 2000 square feet!!!!!!!!

Take lots of memory...maybe even an external......Enjoy your trip...My wife made me feel really good about my pictures...."Anyone could take beautiful pictures here, unless they just didn't know how to focus."

Enjoy.
That's awesome! Glad you had a great time.

Now let's see some pics!

Just got back ourselves last week from a 5 day land tour and 7 day sea cruise. A must-see is the Denali Park Wilderness Tour. We went 63 miles into the park. Lots of caribou, a number of moose, dall sheep, and a few grizzlies. Sweetest trip of my simple life.

Alaska - proof that they don't make lenses wide enough, or long enough

This time next week I will be deep in the bush, can't wait!

I do believe the OP has made the trip by now. I hope so. Anyway, his last activity was in Aug, 2010.

I hope he took some great pictures. Too bad he may not see the pictures in his thread. Awesome!
