When I see this image, two things strike me: (1) why not the entire scull? (2) why not a zoom on the faces to show the human emotion there? This shot does neither. Also, their faces are in shadow, which is frustrating.

It was in the afternoon the shot was taken. When I reached there the race was about to start. The sun was directly above. Yes, agree....their faces in the shadow are frustrating. Not an ideal time to shot actually.

I have shots of the Dragon boat full scull captured but they look tiny in the frame. You are right......I also find zooming in to capture the human emotion is indeed a good consideration.
