Default The Desolate Bench

Hey guys,

Had this posted in the Urban and City Life thread. Not really happy with and not sure why. It's strange as out of all the shots I posted on that thread, this was everyone's favourite.

It is from Sydney's Luminous festival (www.vividsydney.com.au) for those who are interested.
The bench was lit up as part of the exhibit.

Cheers,

~Ronen

Not even that the tree to the right is distracting?
Or that it could use a tighter crop from the top?

Or just a general, I don't like this.... or you!....

For some reason, I felt like the things in the background were distracting to it. So real fast I burnt them in photoshop, and here are the results. (Oh and to clarify... I am in no way a professional and haven't taken any classes in this... its just how I feel.)

But personally I think it helps.

**edit** oops, I missed a spot on accident. I'll fix it real fast and reupload..... DONE

Hmm,

I like the burn you've done, but then again, I like overly dark photos.
It really helped with the building in the centre.

Thanks for taking the time to edit.

Haha no problem. But yeah that's what I though too about the center building.

I like the original also. The blue light on the tree off to the left is a tad distracting. I like how the bench is very inviting. This one would be hung!

I like it alot. i would take away from the background (city lights) saturation or even make everything black and white except for the bench and the lightened ground under it. Either way it's a great shot. If you're a "purist" and don't like to experiment with photoshop then disregard all my suggestions and leave it as you shot it, lol.

Beautiful photo. Maybe take out the high rise in the back or really darken it. Great photo!

I really like this picture. The reason I like this is the contrast of subject. You have a park/forestry area against a big city. With the light on the bench it tells a story. To me it says, no matter how busy you are you need to take a minute to come sit outside and relax once in awhile. (maybe a little dorky but w/e) Really cool shot man!
