Default 1dsmk2 at yr 2006 and 2007

i just want to ask about the 1ds economy...... .how much is the price of 1dsmk2 at yr 2006 and how much again after 1dsmk3 was released at 2007?im asking this things because maybe after 2 yrs from now will it happened again on 1dsmk4 from 1dsmk3? ..i hope somebody can help me to monitor the price economy..

Bodies usually hold their value quite well until the next model is released. So you would have paid about the same for a used 1DsII in late 2005, 2006, and early 2007. But as soon as the mk3 was released, the price dropped substantially.

The same thing will happen when the mk4 is released, even for the mk2 prices.

is the price dropped at 50%? im interested to know that..lets make an example...lets say that this month mk4 will release.the canon co will still make the mk3 or they will stop?because of a new model? sorry for the silly question....

When Canon came out with the 50D, they said in their press release that the 50D "would not take over the 40D" and the 40D continued production.

As for pro bodies, I think the Mk4 will just replace the Mk3's production. That's not to say that they won't reuse lots of Mk3 parts, but the 'Mk3' will usually stop production because Canon should have spare stocks to last at least two months or so.

I think that due to the troubles with the Mk 3s, Mk 2's have held up better than they otherwise would have.
