Default Web Gallery Advise

I need some advise for my site. I've been using my own site for almost 2 years now and been using the PHP based Gallery to handle/manage my images. Well honestly I have never been a fan of it. Personally I do not like the interface, nor how it displays. Do I just need to find some new templates? What's better? My site is a linux by the way.

It would help if you posted a link to your site

You are correct. Most of the images were taken prior to my new hobby, so please don't thrash me on the images. Also after reading post in this section I see less images = better

You might look into JAlbum (jalbum.net) for a similar gallery application that has probably hundreds of different skins to chose from for the interface. It's a client/HTML based solution rather than PHP, if you care.

On your "less images = better" comment, I would say less is better if you're specifically putting up a portfolio that is to be used to show off your "best of the best" photos to potential customers. But if you're pushing out photos just so folks can view an event (seems like that's what you've got out there now), I wouldn't necessarily say that less = better in that case.

i have been using Jalbum , with the Chameleon skin for the simple reason that it has cart software built in with a link to paypal.

I only chose this as i was in a rush to set something up after photographing an enduro race and people were enquiring about prints.

It was freeware, had the cart software and gave a reasonable interface.
