A couple from a recent airshow the sky is not the best... I can't wait to have a go at this type of shot with a 55-250mm with IS.

I doubt it even does anything except at 18mm. THe 55-250 hood is useful, but the Canon design makes it hard to get on and off without putting the lens in MF mode and holding the focus ring. This is actually almost impossible when the hood is reversed for storage. I would just get a 58mm telephoto rubber hood so that you can fold it for storage. It will be uglier, but safer for the lens mechanism and less cumbersome.
yeah the hood is butt ugly! but i would still recommend buying one for protection i have one for the kit and it has saved me from bumps in photo walks the hood was designed to be used and not removed often. i keep mine on all the time and dont bother removing it.

Question Canon XS setting

Hi,
I'm new to Camera and need to know how to set up.
I used Canon XS with Sigma 50-150 Lens .Most of the time I love to shoot portrait and Lanscape but my image quality is not so good as I've seen someone posted in this site .

Here what I'm setting for my XS : Shoot RAW

* Shooting Mode : AV and TV
* Picture Style :User Def. 1 standard
* Sharpness + 7
* Contrast + 3
* Saturation + 2
* Color tone + 1

Please help me out.
Thx .
