I used to shoot Agfa religiously, now I have five rolls of APX-25 left but I don't know if there is any life left in them. It will be a while longer before I find out because I just picked up 3 rolls of the new Portra 400.

I really wish I had a better way to scan this image, but unfortunately I used a cheap point and shoot through a loupe.

The slower the film, the longer it will last before it gets foggy. It should be fine. I'd be glad to test a roll for you.

It took me a while to get them scanned but here are my shots with the new Portra 400. I shot this with the M6 Summicron 50mm @ f/2 1000sec

Great film. I have an engagement session coming up so I'll try to shoot another roll.

Olympus Trip 35 with expired Superia 400 and cheap scanning, the old look brings the mood to this downtown Manila scene. I think.

Those look GOOD. Never would have guessed they were not native digital. Is that the new film Kodak announced that was supposed to be optimized for scanning?

For the price of a M9, you could buy a LOT of film for that M6?

I just scored a Nikon CoolScan IV ED for $50. Its abilities are much better than my Epson flat-bed. Too bad it only does 35mm!

Well exposed and well scanned film can be indistinguishable from digital photos, except having much better highlight retention for many negative film types. Porta 400 is one of those films. Said to have 12 to 13 stops of DR and that it's good to rate 400 as 200 or even 100 and the highlights will keep provided it is scanned properly without auto exposure adjustments.
