Default Pic from All Star Game

I got this shot while trying to center up the field during the anthem. Just before the singer came out, there were two people (service men and women) sent down to the bottom of the upper sections to shoot off graffiti. I couldn't believe what I was seeing, so I just started firing (before the anthem obviously). I got a few good ones. This is my favorite. What does everyone think. This is my first time posting in the c&c section. Thanks for any input.

Btw-this is just barely touched up, and cropped too 5x7 to get rid of some lights on the right side of the pic and the other serviceman's gun on the left side. I'm not great at PP yet so basically just used: unsharp mask, and minor color touch ups. Top is original and bottom is PP.

Also, one question: would I need a model release for this as you cannot see his face?

Any comments welcome. Is it a good pic,bad pic, everyday run of the mill photo, magazine worthy? Thanks for any input.

Someone pointed out, in another thread, that the horizon is a little off. That helped me a lot as I did not notice when shooting the picture.

This is what I was looking for. Thank you. To me, it was (at the time) one of the best pictures I've ever taken. Mainly because: I was there, the anthem was just after that, a B2 had just flown over, etc. To someone else, I can see how it could be boring. Thanks for the honest reply.

Does anyone think it would be more interesting if the background was in focus? I shot this at 2.8. Maybe 5.6, 8.0, or even 22 would have made it more interesting.

First you need to determine what the subject of the image is about. Is it about the serviceman or the field/flag. Then that part needs to be exposed and focused properly. In the above image, because of the focus, the serviceman is the subject but unfortunately is underexposed so that the field draws the eye away.
Also, the post or gun barrel in front makes it even worse. One step to your left and you would have eliminated the problem. As for the model release. Not unless you find a market for the image and in my opinion, that just ain't gonna happen.

Awesome, thanks. The subject was the man. That is why I shot f2.8. I see how if the man was exposed properly, it may have made a big difference.
