I am looking to buy a good 72mm UV Filter for my wakeboarding trip two weeks from now. I do not want to spend too much money, preferably less than $30, and I was wondering which filter I should buy? Any recommendations?

Any good or decent UV filter will cost between $60.00-$210.00. The only UV filter you can get for less then $30.00 is a Tiffen filter and I wouldn't recommend one. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...t=Submit+Query
Take Care, Cheers, Patrick

Check out the Protective Filter FAQ. The things that make a filter "good" are what make it expensive.

these are as good as they get -- and only $28 -- but you'll have to pay shipping and it'll take about 10 days to get to you http://maxsaver.net/Kenko-72mm-PRO1-...UV-Filter.aspx ed rader |

You won't find anything good for $30.00.
I only buy B+W and I don't have to worry. |

Buy the B&W. $100 is cheap compared to the over $1,000 for the lens it protects.

B+W F-Pro MRC or Hoya HD. Do not put a cheap filter in front of expensive glass.

Yes, certainly agree. B+W, Heliopan and Hoya are all good brands. I have the B+W UV/Haze (MRC) F-Pro filters on all my lenses.

Why do you think you need a UV filter anyhow?

I'd get a waterproof housing if I were going to wakeboard with my camera. If I were going to be in the boat watching or taking photos of other people wakeboarding, I wouldn't bother with a UV filter.

Make sure whatever <$30 filter you purchase won't cause vignetting. Regular filters will cause vignetting on super wide angles lenses.
