Default Can you say "OUCH" (You thought your filters were expensive)

So I just found a used circular polarizer to use with my Hitech filter system. It is a B + W 105mm Kaesemann Circular Polarizer Multi-Coated Glass Filter. Used it was 219.50. I really hope this was worth it. I will post more once it comes in.

What do you need a 105mm filter specifically for Doc? I dont know what a Hitech system is.

Oh it is the GND system. It takes a 105 mm filter on the end. right before the hood. New ones were up to $400 for an MRC one.

Whew.

This is what it would look like. Pictured is a 17-40L on my former 5D, with the Lee foundation kit holder, two GND filters, and the 105mm polarizer (in this case, the Lee CPL) out in front. Generally, I use the 105 CPL with only a single GND slot.

Doc: In case you're not aware, you will need the Lee polarizer mounting ring in order to use your 105 polarizer. It simply screws onto the filter slot via the same mounting screws.

If need be it I just attach the polarizer to the lens first then the Cokin ring + Filter holder.

I'll usually do that in a pinch...when I'm rushed, or when I'm lazy. In these cases, I hand-hold the filter in front of the CPL. However, when using my Lee rig with the CPL out front, I find it much easier to set my gradient line when I'm not looking through a CPL first. I end up taking less exposures with this arrangement than when I'm handholding a filter...

Mine would look like that, except different.

Not the Lee. Oh and the Hitech is already setup to take a polarizer, no need for another attachment.
