I recently purchased an XTI and get fabulous pictures until I use a flash and then I get a shadow on the center bottom of the picture. It almost looks like the shadow of my finger. Is this caused by the flash? I don't get it. HELP!

I would agree but this shadow occurs without a hood on the camera.

What lens are you using? Some are physically large enough or have a wide enough focal length to obscure the flash and cast a shadow without a hood. Presumably you're talking about the camera's internal flash?
