Please take what I have to say with a huge grain of salt because I am def no pro lol.

On the plane, to me it looks like you used the in camera flash? Maybe a little too harsh?

I like the idea of the silhouette of the 2nd image!

The tail of a toy plane is not very interesting on the first photo and it looks like you need to try to get the whole toy focused... you'll soon learn how to... I also think it needs a bit of cropping...

Neat concept for the second image.

Regarding #1 - nice, interesting placment of focus and backdrop, interesting subject and there is relationship between the plane, bombs, and backdrop. It's a story for sure.

My opinion on #1 ... with a subject that is as symmetrical as this subject is the absolute best placement psychologically (and yes there are books on the psychology of composition in art and photography) is center. If you were to balance the right black space to match the left black space and crop the top so color is at the edge (to match the tail at the bottom) you may find the image becomes even more powerful.

The following crop places the plane center. If you use PS (photoshop) crop tool there is a center guide which can be used to place a subject center. Here is the crop I was thinking of. It's not necessarily better but a different choice.
