Default Shooting a roller derby event.

Hi everyone. I have a question about shooting a womens roller derby event. I imagine it will be held indoor with ceiling lighting.

I would like to know which of my lens would be the best suited for this.

Should I use a flash? Multiple flashes?

What settings should I set my camera to.

And any technics that might help me get a better shot.

This is my first time doing this, and I have no clue what to do.

Thanks!

I expect that you should start with the f/1.8 unless the event is televised & they've upped the usual "available darkness" light levels. Not knowing how far away from them you will be makes it hard to come up with an answer. Read this for info on sports in low light:

Default Re: Shooting a roller derby event.

thanks photosguy. I'm going to meet up with them in advance to ask about flash and location. I think I can get pretty close to the action (from what it sounds like).
