About two stories of wall behind an abandoned old ice production factory. Shot from an overlooking train rail.

The heavy border is distracting me. I am not sure why some of you guys feel the need to add deep black borders inside of images. Especially when there is nothing else that dark in the photo. Doesn't really make sense.
Other then that, it's a photo of a wall with grafitti. Not much to critique.

The black border is to serve as a neutral buffer from the bright forum BG. ever notice lights out function in LR? If nothing to critique then don't say anything.

My critique is the black is too thick and distracting.

I think the black border compliments the dark elements within the image. Just my 2c.
But yeah the image that c&c was requested on, it says urban decay to me, being that it's desaturated but maybe if the wall was in the foreground and more elements had been included in the shot, it might get that message across easier. Basically, give the wall and grafitti some context. The wall and grafitti should accentuate an overall picture.

Hm...I like the border. And I really like the photograph! Is there some selective coloring/desaturation going on, or is the grass in the foreground dead? Either way, it keeps my attention on the subject, the graffiti. I think it's great!

I am just trying to select images I want to be part of the final collection. So I guess I was looking for CC on the more technical aspects if there is any to be had. Thank you so much! Yeah I played with saturation somewhat, but the grass was already dead. That is what I liked about this image. The art is framed so well by the environment.

Technically, I like the style as, like I said earlier, it portrays decay with the muted saturation. And ive just noticed the concrete beams (or what looks like beams) intersecting the image. Makes it look like a window and breaks the image up symmetrically. Which I think works in contrast to the random and chaotic wall art. Good stuff.

The building is so old that the beams are actually wooden if I remember correctly. Here is shot No. 2 ![]()

I like it and I like the way it's printed. Yet another capture of human expression.

The vibrant blue in contrast with the otherwise dull decayed look in this one is great. I like both of these shots quite a bit. And you are right, without a border these images could look a bit washed out against the bright forum, especially the first one.

Both are pretty good, though by themselves I'm not a huge fan.
However, for me this would be a great location for a urban/grunge sorta looking portrait shoot. |

let us please watch the language. Remember if you ask for a C&C in this section of the forum, you may just get that - an honest C&C. Take the good with the bad and remember everyone has an opinion (in which you asked for) we don't have to agree everytime but we can grow from them.
Thanks for playing.
