Hi all -
Here are some reception photos from the wedding I attended on Sunday. Again, this was my 1st wedding with my 20D and I guess I don't have a pre-shot routing down cold yet 'cause I shot the entire reception in ISO1600. Fortunately, the amount of noise was not bad at all and I didn't have to do as much NR as I thought I would (with my former 300D, ISO1600 noise was ridiculous). I have to give you pro's credit 'cause it's tough to remember everything when the pressure of keeping up with the party is on. Anyway, I hope you enjoy these. Comments and Criticisms are always welcome. Thanks for looking! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Now with this next photo, let me give you some background. The bride's father passed away in the WTC attacks on 911 and they danced to a song in his memory (there wasn't a dry eye in the room). So I heavily de-saturated the picture and darkened it a bit to give a sort of somber mood to it . . . did I succeed in giving it that feel? ![]()

Nice work Mark, I like the hand coming into the frame signing the guest book with the other photos around. It'll be a nice memento.
I also really like the first shot of the couple dancing. (second photo) -Bruce |

the edges around the people in 2 look slightly odd? Great work though. I love them all.

good stuff!!
#1 is my fav #2 has too much ps for my taste #3 Has great saturation, but the flash shadow on the cake is a little unflattering #4 Good Shoot, might improve a tad w/less saturation #5 Cropping is interesting and looks like you caught him mid blink.. not too flattering #6 Dunno, maybe too sharp and "in your face" but a neat expression on his face #7 definitely conveys the feeling you described |

All great shots 1st was my favorite and I think what you are trying to convey is on the money if the backround is known - thanks for adding that to the post

Without question you captured the sadness in the face of the bride. Superb work all around.

These are all fabulous!
If the 20D doesn't give acceptable ISO1600, there is no camera out there that can. The 300D really was no slouch either. |
