No photoshop, though I won't dispute anyone that uses it...just saying, not my style. I bought about a grand worth of filters (Lee and Singh ray) because a lot of my style now, these days, is all about doing everything on camera and getting the scene as true as how I saw it.

These were all created with the canon 50D + 11-16 tokina 2.8 + 1 0.9 lee soft ND grad

Edit: woooo boy these loaded weird...I'll clean it up a bit.

Very interesting shots. Some I like a lot, others just so-so. You have demonstrated filters I wasn't even aware of. I'm never even sure of using a CPL, would go crazy with so many choices.

How can the image be it be "true" as you saw it by using colored filters? Several of the images posted here have a distinct color cast. KC

Great shots, Karl. I'm not too fussed on the first two, but love the others

Cheers,

I didn't use colored filters, just a soft ND grad (0.9). I guess by 'true' I mean as I saw it and tuned the camera to capture in the changing light of the sunset.

I know Lee. He's my buddy too! For some of the scenes you captured, I would've used the 3 stop hard instead. It seems you blew out some of the sky. Stacking another GND would've helped here. I can't wait to see more with your new filters.
