All the pics on my site of the band were using the dish. Haven't used anywhere else yet. Worked great for that, nice contrasty light, I'd like to try it for portraiture, it's got a grid and sock for it as well.

It is just one of the cheap 16" ebay dishes, something like THIS

Took the built in speed ring off. Then just drilled holes in it to lie up with 4 holes in my ebay softbox, something like THIS

Then just use small nuts and bolts to put it on and off

I'll take pics next time it's set up

I used my Canon 580exII with a bounce umbrella as main light and my Vivitar 285hv on a boom overhead.

That is a great shot; how did you have the flashes arranged?

Thanks Charlie & Jon.

Charlie - set up was a shoot through umbrella camera left and snoot/grid high rear camera left pointing towards the wall.

Thanks guys - there's a lot you can do with an $80 strobe that's for sure.

this one was done with a Vivitar 285h with a blue filter for background, a 430ex shoot through umbrella camera left and natural light coming from the right.
