Did anyone else notice that the prices of the lenses went up before the rebates were applied. At least on newegg. Its rather discouraging. In other words everyone looking at the $200 rebate on the 70-200mm 2.8 IS will be disappointed to know its only down $50 from a few days ago. Check the cached pages in google to verify.

Yes, it's been known since September that Canon was going to raise prices by about 10% on many products, including lenses, flashes, and accessories. The price hike has been in place since October 1st.

It has been out of stock for 1 week now.

In any case, this lens is currently in stock at B&H and Adorama, if you don't want to wait.
