That sample is really bad, it's a very poor quality capture of the original file. Those crazy YouTube guys. :D

That's not a sample, my video camera on my phone takes better quality then that.
There are film like quality examples in the 7D video thread...

for as much as i have been distant from even looking at 7d stuff.. that looks really amazing!

from the second link that was posted.. the ones on youtube do look pretty bad.

For a canon promotion, that example isn't much good. Someone made a really nice video of a fayre. It was on vimeo but I noticed it was gone, that really made me want the 7D.
Anyway, for camera tests, stick to vimeo not youtube.

I agree the yutube compress video just like photo sites "tune" photos for web display.
