Yeah, I hope the price is around $200. The Samyang fisheye and 85 1.4 have been shown to be quite good.

Here http://www.lenstip.com/1762-news-Fal...ple_shots.html you can find some sample shots taken with a 20d. You can preorder that lens here http://www.foto-tip.pl/sklep/samyang...on-p-1565.html for about 260€.

Looks pretty good from the samples. I was thinking about the 8mm fish, but I don't know if I want fisheye ALL the time. 14mm would be pretty good for the occasional UWA shot and be about 30% wider than the kit lens. Although once you start getting close to about $300, why not just save a bit more for the TOkina 12-24 I.

Am I correct in assuming it is MF only? I did not see it mentioned specifically.

I can see this being an extremely useful lens if you had a FF camera and say a 16-35 lens as well.

If you use the 16-35 most often, but occasionally want something just a bit wider then this lens would afford you that ability without spending another $2000 on the 14mm Canon version.

Plus, for the little amount of money this lens will be you can't go wrong!

They saw a niche in the market that needed filling and they are doing a great job of trying to fill it. I am suprised their optics are actually quite good.

As for the 11-16 comparison - sure why not, but if you can afford the 11-16 and dont shoot FF, why even look at the Samyang. Not sure they are the same market.
