Hello,
I am new here, and have enjoyed all the reading and learning that all of you provide. I have had my 300d for about 2 months now, with the kit lens. I have now ordered an 85mm 1.8... and it is in transit now from B&H. My main purpose (at first) will be indoor dance competitions... and indoor youth volleyball. I read... and read... and hope that I made the correct choice for what I need. At some point, I may need some more range... and then will have to start the choosing process all over again. Thanks to everybody on this board... Last edited by tucked : 24th of May 2005 (Tue) at 16:59. |

I see you couldn't wait to update your sig
For more range, you might treat yourself to the 135mm f/2L. Enjoy!

You're going to love it. My favourite lens by far.

135 f2 is 1st on my wish list. Wish I had it for the recital. But the 85 is so affordable -- great value.

The 85mm f/1.8 is, quite simply, the best lens decision I've made thus far. Here are a couple of shots to give you an idea of its' low-light capabilities:

Hello,
I just had to share one of my first pics with my 85mm 1.8. It isn't great... but I at least have something I can work with now. |

I tried to get in to Seoul on Saturday to buy the 85. I wasn't able to make it and now I have to wait until next weekend. You just made my wait that much harder.
