That's neat. I didn't think you were allowed to have your digital camera on when the plane is landing. Did you sneak the shot? Also, it looks like you got a rather clean window. My window seats are always scratched terribly it seems.

Wow! Some of the photos on that site are crazy! Especially the most popular ones (in the Netherlands, Antilles beach) where the planes are coming in so low it looks like you could reach out and touch them! http://www.airliners.net/open.file/211543/M/ I'll have to remember that I can take my camera out the next time that I sit next to a clean window (a rare occasion). What I really would like to get is an aerial shot of my house - I've actually become quite good at spotting local landmarks during takeoff and landing.

You're actually not supposed to turn on your camera below 10,000 feet. The FAs won't notice if you are using your camera during landing because they have to be seated in their jumpseats.
Cool photo. Congrats on getting on airliners.net!

Hehe, I saw your pic a few days ago. Your shot was directly competing mine for top of 24 hours.
http://www.airliners.net/search/phot...tophistory=yes Good on you, for having two shots there. (Mine is now on 2nd page) http://www.airliners.net/open.file/847006/L/ Nice shots anyway. I flew recently in Feb, but didn't get any great landing shots, as I wasn't at the window seat. And the return flight I was in the middle! (even after requesting my seats months in advance, and arriving at airport 3 1/2 hours early). Flight was from AKL-BNE |

"behind the right wing"
It's not that bad. For us photographers, it creates a different view of all the flaps and stuff. My ex girlfriend actually sat at window, as I was going to fly window seat on the way back. I still managed to snap about 50 over her shoulder. (rather annoyed at me clicking away This was my view en route to Brisbane http://www.airliners.net/open.file/797362/L/ |
