Ok so Mark has his wonderful pup, here are a couple of shots of my new kittens at 14 weeks old and a total time waste, but great fun - all taken with close up kit and external flash firing into a Rogue FlashBender...

And chasing tiny little bugs around in the backyard isn't a waste of time? Nice Shots John.

Typical lazy August afternoon on the Boise River right through town. The first features in the whitewater park will be completed by next summer. What an incredible asset to this community.

This was a shot taken mid day summer sunshine on a pond with riffling water. The log and duck struck me as a shot that would be cool to give the built in 3 stop ND filter a whirl with a subtle long exposure. Nonetheless, the exposure was still WAY to slow to avoid a complete overexposure in order to smooth out the water. You should see the original. (These thoughts all took place in a matter of seconds as I was riding home on the Boise greenbelt along the river in the shot above. So obviously nothing serious here.) Yet...Behold the power of RAW processing and Lightroom 3!! Settings were M mode, 1/6 sec, f/8.0, ISO 100 (guess I could have gone ISO 80) See flickr for the same shot taken at 1/4 sec...
