Thanks - glad you like

The snow - 2 weeks prior, the whole place was just green and everyone was very worried - then it went from zero to 2.4 metres of snow in 5 days! Madness - they have had more snow in those 5 days than in the whole of last season. Crazy weather.

Below is a rubbish pic - but this is the main street, on my way to the boulangerie to pick up the croissants for breakfast on Thursday morning (and it carried on snowing in the same way until Saturday afternoon - it was over head height in the street!).

Other pic is a pano comp of looking down on Val d'Isere. Just to the left of the town, is a a run called Face - where they run a World Cup slalom round - which they cancelled the week before because of lack of snow!

Back out there again in March for 2 weeks - when I hope I will be a bit healthier and stronger!

Rog

Okay Rog, now you're just rubbing it in our faces . I'm actualy getting ready to go for a mountain bike ride where I would normally be making powder turns this time of year. I've not ever seen it this dry around here at this time. Hope it comes big when it does. I rely on it not only for skiing but kayaking for the rest of the year.

My new/used G11 arrived here yesterday (Friday). Just in time for a day trip with my oldest son and his family to the Fort Worth Stockyards.

The G11 is a nice addition to my camera collection, and I was fairly pleased with the opening salvo. I was also somewhat pleased by not having to carry around the weight of a DSLR and three or four lenses today.

steve911 welcome to the forum! Great photo.Glad I looked.

Wayne--glad to see you're having fun with your G11. If you ever want to look at sharpen images (not that these need it) you can do that through the mycolors menu. Other photo settings can be changed to. I no longer need that (sold my G11) but I read about it in a review long after buying my camera.

Just thought I would share.

Thanks. I ordered a G11 field guide off Amazon when I won the G11 on Ebay. The field guide was in the mailbox when we got home tonight from Fort Worth.

I'm sure a good number of the throwaway photos I shot today were pure operator error, in that my settings weren't quite right for the light, subject or conditions.

I was really working the ISO dial, which is a great feature, and on more than one occasion was accidently hitting the flash and timer buttons with my thumb.

Dude, I have gotten where I simply set it to Av mode, f/2.8 or 3.2, ISO 100-200 and let the little G do the rest. I don't use this camera in conditions that are too low in light.

Since its founding in 1909, accreditation has followed the Forth Worth Zoo, and today it has been heralded as the top zoo in the nation by Family Life, USA Today, and the Los Angeles Times. The zoo is well-rounded overall, with over 350 species from every continent except Antarctica.

The collection of stained glass at St Patrick was imported from Munich, Bavaria Germany and installed in 1892, near the end of church contruction. The statue of Our Lady of the Apocalypse overlooks the Sanctuary.
