It's interesting to see the shots used with the welding glass. I probably would have bought one myself if I knew about them. I can see that it'll take some good processing to compensate for the colour cast. In the meantime; I'll put up with my ridiculously expensive B&W 110 filter

Keep posting peeps!

Ahh

I tried this with my welding glass a while back and I got wicked color cast.

Maybe because I was taking a pic of the moon.

Nothing that PS or LR can't compensate for. Try it again on a normal scene

I saw someone somewhere stick an old UV filter with the glass missing to the welding glass with superglue. Then you can just screw it on

Yes, and we need pictures.

The weather out there just isn't playing ball for some decent long exposures.

I now have mine fitting into the holder ..

I basically shaved the bottom filter holder runners away and removed the nobbles at either end so it sits perfectly flush .. Just need to find a decent way to secure it from sliding out now!

Lovely DIY solution, Matt. Very helpful for others.
I'm sure some elastic bands will hold that right on.

Here is my first attempt, it seems a little oof, least I know it works!

I solved the problem of the filter slipping out by gluing a strip of rubber band to one edge so it gripped it in place!
