Yep, it's official. The 7D has landed here in Dubai. I tested it when I went to the mall with my family and I'm thinking of words to say that doesn't have any hint of hyperbole in it but I can't. It blew me away! That viewfinder is drool-inducing feature. It feels solid in my hands. Plus, get this, it has the 18-135 kit lens with it! But nothing fancy there coz I know all of us are literally screaming for the 15-85. The grip that comes with though is overly priced here I think. Dirhams 1,000! That's double the 50D's battery grip! I want one the moment I saw it, but the wife says November, so November it is. Sad part is November the 30th. I'll post pics and announce when I finally got one. I hope it's November 1 tomorrow. LOL!
Edit: When the 7D was first announced, even if it's still not here in Dubai, I immediately sold my 450D and a couple of lenses except for one, my lovely Canon 50 1.8 II, which goes without saying that I'll be left with that lens when I decided to buy the body only of the 7D (even though it has the 18-135 kit) and just buy the Tamron 17-50 2.8 simply because of the aperture. But I'm still undecided whether if I'll take the kit or not. Question now is this. If I buy only the body, what lens would you recommend me to buy next. Remember I have the nifty fifty already. I do all types of photography - portraiture, landscapes, and NOW PROBABLY SPORTS because of the impressive 8 fps of the 7D. But I'm more on to portraiture. Please advice.
