I was out Garage Sale-ing today and parked on the street near one was this beauty, a 1963 Black Lincoln Continental. What do you think? ![]() ![]() ![]() I took a couple of the side but there was a big ugly green GMC truck behind it.

Here is a shot of the side that I changed the background to take out the green truck. I kind of like it, cause it sort of looks like a car ad.

Christopher,
Please take this in the spirit it is intended. I have noticed that when Car Magazines do photo shoots of vehicles for their magazine they always replace or cover the license plate. And this is in a shoot where the the owner of the vehicle *wants* to have his car displayed in the magazine. I suggest that you might use your (obvious) PS skills to obscure the license plate in future shots. On the other hand, since you are in Alberta it may not be as much of a problem as it could be here in the lawsuit-lawyer-loving States... (A couple months ago I helped a friend of mine rescue Grandpas 64 white w/ red leather interior Continental from the barn - we towed it to his garage, and boy are those things BIG and HEAVY) Tom |

Hi Tom,
In alberta we are the only province in Canada not to have front license plates. Probably the only province/state in North America. Prior to I believe 1970 in Alberta they had a new plate for every year. Normally if it was an actual plate, instead of a antique novelty plate I would either blurr it, remove it or change the plates numbers (to maybe the year). But this being an antique plate that wouldn't even be in the system anymore never mind probably bought second hand, I decided to keep it just the way it is. I completely understand about the law suite loving states. Like come on, sueing McDonalds cause it made you fat? That's what happens when you eat 5 Big Mac per day. LOL But hey ya gotta love Law & Order.

Nice shots. I'd crop down about 20% from the top of the 1st one - makes the car look even wider.
Good PS job on the last, too. "Probably the only province/state in North America.": Michigan doesn't need a front plate either.

That IS a good looking old Lincoln, and I like the PS work you did to remove the Green truck.
This kind of reminds me of the one they trashed in the movie "Animal House", except I believe that one was a 65. -Bruce |

Hi Chris,
I'm writing because I would love to purchase the image of the 1963 lincoln continental you have posted here for an article we are doing in ELLE DECOR magazine. Please email or call me if this is something you'd be interested in doing. My deadline is today; I hope to hear from you soon! Take care. Tara 212 767 5929 tgerminsky@hfmus.com I |
