i just bought the non-vc version at a ridiculously low price to just try out and see how i like that version and if the rumors about this VC version having a faster AF and being quieter added with VC.... then i think im gunna sell that one pick this one up! just wanna make sure the optical quality of this lens is as good as then non-vc! So post up some pics those that have this lens!!!!!

Can't wait to see more pics taken with this lens.

I hope they're NOT ALL taken at super high ISOs, some okay, but it would be nice to see pics taken at NORMAL ISOs i.e. 100, 200, 400, etc on bright sunny days, or even bright overcast days to see how SHARP this lens is, and the type of COLOUR it produces.

We have no release date for this lens in the UK, the distributor is even unsure.
Can I ask how some people have this as even Far East importers cannot get hold of them let alone US ones ?

Mine arrived this morning....just a few test shots.

These are straight off the camera, no pp, just resizing.

All 3 are handheld with VC on.
430EXII used (bounce flash from a ceiling 7ft above the book), only one small lamp in the corner of the room. All at 50mm.
1/200 @ ISO400

All handheld, no flash, no pp, VC was on.
ISO800 (so on a 450 = noise

Reallly impressed with the VC.

The AF is noisey, but it does not hunt much at all in lowlight.

For a £400 lens with constant f2.8 and VC, I am pleased with it.

Nice pics, Ryan. Nice to see some "real world" photos taken OUTDOORS instead of all of the "book" tests. Still waiting to see how this lens handles nice BRIGHT colours on a nice SUNNY day!! I hope they POP off the screen almost 3-D like as those from the Non VC version do.
