Buy an XSi now or wait until I go overseas?

So I've been looking at the Xsi for my first DSLR for a while, and noticed a deal on amazon.

Problem is, I'll be moving overseas (Korea) in about 2 months, so I won't be able to have it covered by warranty if something was to happen. I'll be in Korea for at least a few years.

The money I save by buying it now via the amazon deal would be about 300 dollars. Should I buy now or wait? Would out-of-warranty repairs be horribly expensive?

Doesn't Canon still offer an international warranty as well as the US warranty?

Even being in Korea, if you were forced into a situation where you needed warranty work, you may be able to ship the USA.
But at the cost I really wouldn't worry about the warranty.

Of course at that point I'd seriously consider buying a used camera body from a reputable seller on POTN. If you're going to be out warranty you may as well save some significant amount of money or spend the same amount on a better body.

If you want new the current deal is pretty good. As for warranty work, you'd most likely be shipping it back to the US and it would be costly. But hopefully you wouldn't encounter that issue.

I'd personally want the local warranty, whatever country you live in. Those two months will go by quickly, unless there's some event you absolutely must capture, or you have children and don't want to miss two months of shots.
